Hypnosis is a state of human consciousness that involves concentrated immersion and reduced peripheral awareness indicated by an enhanced capacity for response to suggestion. Hypnosis as an altered state of mind (also known as trance), marked by a level of awareness distinctive from an ordinary conscious state.
During hypnosis, a person is said to have heightened awareness, focus and concentration. All hypnosis is Self Hypnosis. At no point does anyone “go under” or loose consciousness. The individual controls the outcome.
