OM Chanting

Join us in uniting in our intentions to bring PEACE, LOVE and UNITY to our country, and the world!

As we connect our hearts through OM, WE stand as ONE for LOVE. Together we are pillars of light and will UNITE to spread PEACE and HARMONY to ourselves, our neighbors, our country and our planet.

What is OM Chanting?

OM Chanting is a powerful group healing technique introduced by Paramahamsa Vishwananda for the modern age. By chanting OM within a specifically arranged group of people, the power of OM is enhanced and amplified.

Entering into the OM Chanting circle helps to release emotions, thoughts, and negative energy. Participants experience positive shifts in emotional, mental and physical well-being thereby bringing about peace, joy and Love in one’s life.

To be able to do OM Chanting, one does not have to belong to any religion or follow any spiritual path. One is only required to chant OM continuously for about 45 mins while sitting in a group in a specific arrangement.

Group Meditation and Shamanic Drum Healing

Start the New Year right, come relax and release your day with a guided meditation followed by shamanic drum healing.  While in a meditative state, your entire being is open and receptive to healing. Shamanic drumming alters your vibrational state.  The drumming begins slowly and gradually builds in intensity and tempo.  This induces a light to deep trance state which promotes healing and wellbeing.

We finish the evening with a sharing of the experience.

Making of a drum…

Earlier this year the drum I use for Shammanic Healing, was sadly damaged in a drive from the southeast to the northeast.  When I discovered the drum was damaged, I immediately was sad.  Truth is I burst into tears.  The drum had come to me 9 years ago and it became one of the tools I connected with the most. As I was in this moment of sadness, I also started to feel joy.  This tool had been in service for healing for the entire time. It touched many lives, mine included and I realized just how grateful I was.

I was hopeful I might be able to repair the drum, yet was unsure how.  I reached out to a friend who as hosted drum making workshops to see if she might be able to repair it for me. Intuitively she echoed the message that I had received, which was it was time to let go. That it had served it’s purpose. This friend is a wise soul and I knew what she said to be true.  She suggested that I make my own drum, that it was an experience I should consider.

After a few months, I finally ordered a drum kit from Cedar Mountain Drums in Portland, OR.  It arrived two days before embarking on our journey to England. While I had wanted to create the drum under the influence of the total solar eclipse, unfortunately with the soaking time, it had to wait for my return.

While in England, we attended the Conference on Consciousness and Human Evolution in London, which was highly educational and intense. After, we visited Avebury & Glastonbury – visiting the Chalice Well, Glastonbury Tor and the Abbey.  I meditated in the peaceful, loving chalice well garden, then climbed Glastonbury Tor to meditate inside the the tower. While sitting at the top with the Tor, I felt as though I was vibrating.  Combined that with the peace I had experienced in the garden and I felt that my heart chakra was wide open.  I was filled with love and gratitude and was feeling so blessed and peaceful in the moment.  Later I learned that these sacred places are on a “ley line” that is considered the heart chakra of the world!

After we returned from our epic journey, I felt it was time to make the drum.  The drum came with written instructions as well as links to watch videos that were of the drum maker, Patrick Pinson giving step by step instructions while he made a drum. I watched all the videos and found them to be an invaluable tool!

Before making the drum, I created sacred space and smudged the space, hide, hoop and ties.  Making a drum is a sacred ceremony, it was important to be clear to infuse only the best, most positive, loving intentions into the drum.

As I did this, I documented the process some…

Starting to make the drum

All prepped and ready to go!

Lacing the drum

Lacing the drum was next, giving thanks to Father Sky and Mother Earth, breathing into my heart and breathing out of my heart, I continued clockwise, as Patrick had advised.

Lacing and stretching complete

Once the lacing was complete, next was wrapping the four quadrants or four directions, creating a cross, which will serve as the drum handle.

Up high to dry

Having a 5 month old kitten means, if there is something she shouldn’t be into, it has to go higher than she can go.  See the heart? How cool!

Dry and ready to be awakened

It took a solid 2 days to completely dry.  I was so excited to take the drum down and hear it’s sound for the first time.  I created sacred space again, smudging the space, the drum, the beater, and myself, then calling in each direction, one by one. Once the awakening was complete, I continued drumming for as long as I felt moved to.

Consciously making and awakening the drum is an experience I am most grateful for.  I now look forward to sharing the medicine of the drum with others.

Feel free to visit Cedar Mountain Drums if you wish to make or purchase a drum of your own.  Their products and service is exceptional! Please tell Patrick I sent you.  www.cedarmountaindrums.com

*Note: My kit was a 20″ inch cedar hoop with Elk hide.

Creating the drum brought me back to my drum circle days. I am grateful to my teacher of the drum, Ray Spirit Wolf.  Ray is the drum keep of an amazing drum.  He shared his knowledge, wisdom and medicine of the drum with several of us, teaching us the ways that he had learned and the songs.  Our drum circle met regularly for almost 3 years. We participated at several Pow-Wow’s in the RI/MA area.  Below is the one group picture of our drum members, taken at a Pow Wow in Lincoln, RI.  We were called Hawk Song Drum.   It was an absolute joy and honor to be a part of this loving circle. I am so grateful for the experience!
